I met Connor and Hannah for the first time at Starbucks for their wedding consultation, in between other appointments that day, and instantly fell in love with their kind smiles and fun personalities! Also, they live in Tucson and drove all the way up to Phoenix just to meet with me! HOW SWEET!
And not to mention, they are high school sweethearts, just like my husband and I! After talking about why high school sweethearts are the best kind of couples (obviously we’re so biased LOL!), they started telling me all about their wedding day coming up next spring at one of Arizona’s most beautiful venues, Chateau de Vie! By the end of the conversation after we’d gone over all the details, I told them to talk everything over together and that I would follow up with them in a few days. They stopped me and said, “We pretty much knew even before we even met you that we wanted you to be our wedding photographer! So, our decision is yes!” It was such a humbling moment for me because it made me feel so honored!
Now, it’s the middle of summer in Arizona which means two things: it’s hot and it’s really hot. And the past few weeks have been unrelenting and unbearably so. I’ve photographed sessions at Papago Park many times, but this engagement session was the first time I’ve photographed it at sunrise! And I will say – the heat is a little more tolerable at sunrise! Plus, there is something so special and beautiful about the fresh morning light, so when Hannah asked if I would be willing to take their engagement photos at sunrise, I couldn’t say no!
To Connor and Hannah,
Thank you for hiking up a small mountain in heels and dress shoes and for trusting me with such a fun part of your journey to becoming Mr. and Mrs.! I can’t wait to spend your wedding day with you and capture all of the fun details you are planning! It is going to be the best day ever!!
