Meg contacted me back in May about a desert session for her sweet family while they were vacationing to Scottsdale, Arizona. Within a few days of booking, she had already sent me an outfit inspiration board and her overall vision for the session! I was amazed at all the thought she put in to it!
A desert location was a must-have for these east coasters! (I love finding fellow desert lovers!) In Meg’s words, “the more saguaros, the better!” I couldn’t agree more! I had photographed one other time at the Wind Cave Trail in Mesa, and I knew this would be the perfect spot for their family session!
Having to wait three months to get them in front of my camera!! 😉 Meg & I started following each other on Instagram, and would reply back and forth to our stories and posts, etc. It felt like I was just waiting for a good friend to come in town!
And not to mention, Meg & Jim’s three kids – Brandon, Bailey, and Emma – are probably the closest thing to perfect if there every was such a thing! These three just love on their parents so much, and it was so sweet to watch them all interact together! With Meg’s loving and nurturing spirit, and Jim’s fun and patient personality, it is no wonder why! Meg & Jim are the cutest couple and the type of parents that strive to make sure their kids have an memorable & positive childhood! Such a blessing!
I always like to get the kids involved in the session, especially when it’s not their turn for photos, because I think it helps them feel more excited about the photos and more willing to cooperate when it is their turn. 😉 So when it was time for just a few photos of mom and dad, and I asked if they would help me make sure mom and dad were “doing it right”, they jumped right on board. It was so cute!
“Ok, now smile!” “Now look at Miss Aly!”
As a result, of course we were all laughing because it’s always funny when you hear kids say all the things adults are always telling them. They really are always watching and soaking in everything around them! Brandon is such a protector of his sisters, just like his dad, and Bailey is a mini-me of her momma to her little sister. These sweet siblings are each unique in their own way, but the bond they share is so special!
I am so happy that you found me while searching on Instagram all the way from Connecticut! It was a joy and honor to capture the love of your sweet family! Meg & Jim, I admire you both for the parents you are, for the grace you exude, and for the evident love you have for each other! Brandon, you’re my “we both lost the battle with a cactus” buddy. Bailey, you are my blue-eyed buddy! And Emma, you remind me of my own sweet yet sassy personality 😉 Safe travels back to cooler temperatures and greener scenery! Let’s do it again sometime!!
