I still remember it like it was yesterday. Waking up on my wedding day, the “Superbowl” of my own love story, surrounded with all my best girls in our matching outfits, my big white dress and their gold sequin dresses just waiting to be showcased. It was much like Alejandra and her girls. They all spent the night before at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Hotel together, woke up to slip on their matching white satin robes, and their gold sequin dresses were ready to shine.
Every time I photograph a wedding, it’s almost as if I can feel the emotions of my own wedding day rushing back to me. And Mario & Alejandra’s wedding day was no exception! As I arrived to the bride’s suite and met Alejandra’s bride tribe, I could feel the giddy excitement for what the day would hold.
All weddings have their own “flare” of tradition or unique elements that are special to the couple. It’s so important to make your wedding your own, filled with memories that are important to you. Mario and Alejandra, along with their families, made sure that happened! Not only did they “get married” once, they did it again just a few hours later! Rich in culture and tradition, Mario and Alejandra had a traditional Catholic Ceremony first. Then, at the outdoor ceremony at the Pointe Hilton, I definitely got teary-eyed watching both of them get choked up and teary while expressing their love and commitment to each other when reading their vows. It was absolutely beautiful!
At the reception, Mario and Alejandra brought the “Grand” to grand entrance! I mean, these people know how to celebrate!! As the two entered the big brown doors, everyone was cheering and dancing for about 40 minutes straight. It was awesome, and seriously so fun being in the middle of it all and watching your family’s tradition unfold.
Mario and Alejandra, thank you for trusting me with the day you became husband and wife! It was such an honor to watch your family and friends come together to celebrate you, and I am grateful to have been a part it all through both your engagement and your wedding photos (my favs are below!!) Marriage is such a beautiful gift, and I’m excited to watch you embrace it! Call me when you need an anniversary session, or a maternity session… 😉
