My whole life I’ve dreamed of having a baby girl. After over 2 years of infertility and being told we may never have biological kids, my husband and I found out we were pregnant in April 2019. I knew I would be happy with either a boy or a girl, but deep down, I really wanted a girl. When we found out our baby was a little girl, I was overjoyed and full of gratitude to say the least. I immediately started the search for all things NURSERY, making my vision come to life.
Her nursery, which had been a greatly overlooked spare bedroom in our house ever since we moved in, became my favorite room in the house. (And it still is!) I couldn’t wait to bring her home to a beautiful, relaxing, and serene space. I wanted it to be cute, not super “baby-ish”, and also functional. I handpicked every single item, thoughtfully chosen with the intention of being able to keep many of the pieces for years to come as she gets older. We were blessed to have a majority of the nursery items purchased or gifted to us by family and friends. Truly a blessing!! I posted these images on my Instagram before our Blakely girl was born, but I wanted to put it on my blog too for a couple reasons. One- I hope it helps another mama who may need some inspiration and/or direct links of where the items are from! Finding modern and beautiful baby items can be SO hard! And two- I know some of our family and friends have not seen her nursery yet, and so I wanted to create a central place for it.
Links are listed underneath each image! And, if you’re reading this & pregnant, let’s chat about a maternity session 😉
Flower Wall Decals in Small, Medium, and Large from Hobby Lobby
Wood Sign – Custom made from Colt Design
Her “above the crib decor” was the hardest for me to decide on. I knew I wanted to incorporate her name, but wasn’t sure how until I saw this idea! I absolutely love this custom wood piece because I know it can always be used as a statement piece in her room as she grows up! And the surrounding flower wall decals just make it all come together beautifully!
Wall Accordion from Amazon / Camera Toy from Amazon / Polka Dot Dress from Zara Kids / “Hello Little Love Baby Book from Blossom & Pear
Bookshelf Holders from IKEA / Wicker Chest from Marshalls / White Crib from Project Nursery / Pink Lamp from Target / White Side Table from Target
We chose this crib because for one, I love the modern look of it, but secondly, it transitions into a toddler bed!
Wall Shelf from IKEA / Faux Cactus Plant from Target / Rocking Chair from Wayfair
Wood Play Gym from Amazon
Say goodbye to the lime green/hot pink/bright blue baby play gyms and say HELLO to these adorable wooden ones! The hanging toys can be easily changed out (there are lots on Etsy!) and I love how this piece is functional for her, but also ties in with the rest of her nursery.
Dresser from Target with Knobs from Hobby Lobby / Round Wood Mirror from Target / Cactus Picture from Hobby Lobby / Changing Basket from Amazon (NouElla) / Pink Blanket from Target
We chose an actual dresser over just a changing table so that she can keep it for many years! Plus, the knobs are super easy to change out if we ever change up her decor/theme. I was very adamant about having a seagrass changing basket and I’m not lying when I tell you I searched the internet for MONTHS to find one that didn’t make me want to throw up at the price. I love this one from NouElla (found on Amazon) and I can tell you for sure – it’s the cheapest one you’ll find!
I was also very adamant about having a mirror in her room… I’m not really sure why! But, I am so glad we have this one right above the changing basket because Blakely loves to look at herself in the mirror! I also love the white medicine tin (we got it from Marshalls) and we keep her snot sucker, diaper cream, thermometer, nail clippers, comb, etc! I love how it’s close in proximity when we need it, but keeps everything hidden & put away in a cute display!
Maybe I’m weird for having a printed maternity photo in her nursery, but this image was one of my favorites and I just couldn’t not!
This is a close up detail of her crib sheet from Caden Lane! It is absolutely beautiful! The subtle pattern is the perfect addition to her white crib!
Custom name tag from Calli & Oak
Sarah from Calli & Oak is the sweetest soul and such a talented calligrapher! I had her make Blakely’s name tag for her birth announcement and I love it so much! She gave me several different font mockups to choose from and she has endless color options too!
Thank you for scrolling through and checking out my favorite room in the house! 🙂 We feel so blessed for the miracle and gift of our precious daughter. Up next… I am sharing her birth story & newborn photos!!
