Well, it’s officially here! The secret is out!

Welcome to the brand new and improved Aly Kirk Photo (formerly Kirk Photo Co)!

The past few months I have been working tirelessly to rebrand my business.

And you probably thought, “You have a brand? What is a rebrand?!” 

A rebrand can mean a couple of things, but the way I see it in terms of my business, a rebrand is a “makeover” so to speak of what my business is all about.

Creating a new logo and a new website is definitely part of it, but for me it was most importantly about gaining a new perspective and a new name to attach to that perspective. I have a lot of fresh content coming your way that I am excited to share with you!

But first, I wanted to share with you the THREE Reasons WHY I changed my name.

1. I wanted a name that reflected how people talk about me. 

People don’t call me “Kirk”, they call me Aly 🙂 Trying to remember someone’s name that you don’t know is hard enough as it is! I want it to be easy for people to remember my name and my business name, and that is a lot easier when they are the same!

2. A first name is more personable than just a last name.

My last name tells you the family and heritage I belong to (or was married into, in my case), but my first name is specific and unique to me and only me. My first name distinguishes me, and my business should coincide with that!

3. People need to trust those they hire. 

With Kirk Photo Co, while it was adequate for a season, I felt like it was hindering people I didn’t know from being able to connect with me. If I were someone looking at it from the outside, I would have thought, “Is that a team or group of photographers? How will I know who will show up to my session?” By changing my name to include my first name, I realized that it will take the guesswork and uncertainty out it. I want people to know exactly who they are trusting with their life’s big moments.
